This morning I paid a visit to my local farmers market in Bangalow, NSW to stock my fridge with lots of yummy fresh organic produce in preparation for my detox. It’s one of my favourite places to visit on Saturday and considering I hate shopping any other time – that’s saying something! If you have a copy of my e-book and live in Sydney, you’ll find a directory for the major farmers markets and for those of you living elsewhere, try googling farmers markets in your local area or even organic food retailers. Personally I prefer shopping at smaller local producers than the big supermarket chains, but I realise this is not always possible for some, depending where you live. As long as you can access organic fruit and vegetables for the detox phase at a minimum – especially for juicing, then that’s the main thing!
So here’s my list of grocery essentials for the ‘strip back and alkalise’ stage of my detox program. If your fridge is large enough, be sure to purchase enough produce to last 5 – 7 days. I recommend you incorporate my green goddess vege juice and coconut water each day of the detox and beyond, as they are great for alkalising your body each day and the coconut water and flesh are fantastic for quenching those sugar cravings, as your body starts to suffer the withdrawal!
You may or may not have decided if you are up for the 2 – 4 day vegetable juice and broth fast, but my advice is to incorporate these in with the rest of my eating program regardless, as they will still be very effective in aiding detoxification.
Happy shopping!

Green goddess juice fest and coconut water (my market was out of organic celery so I had to go without!)
I’ll be posting more tips for my recommended shopping list in a few days when I have completed 4 days on the ‘strip back and alkalise’ stage of the program so stay tuned for this and some yummy recipe ideas.
Til next time, eat well and feel good every day!
